Group Commercial Financial Controller – FTC (3 – 6 months)

It is a time of great opportunity at our PE backed client, a leading manufacturer, distributor and service provider in the global healthcare sector. They are part way through a buy and build , with the focus on growth and business development and a differentiated ,value-add product and service offering to a blue-chip client base. The experienced CFO joined the team last year and now seeks an interim GFC. The role has both internal and external facets as well as being truly broad and commercial across the multi-site group. It will oversee day to day management of the finance function, providing insightful reporting to the board and supporting strategic planning and EBITDA growth.

Responsibilities include:

  • Strategic and financial planning (requiring exceptional numerical proficiency) to aid growth and achieve targets
  • The implementation of robust internal controls and new and appropriate systems
  • Support development of an agile finance function balancing a "no surprises” environment while being capable of reacting to business/market dynamics
  • Leading management and financial reporting, overseeing accounting operations, budgets and forecasts.
  • Support the CFO on future business development opportunities including M&A, integration, NPD and divestment activities
  • Ownership of the monthly, quarterly & annual close process to ensure successful and on time delivery of financial reporting
  • On-going regular covenant modelling and Compliance support, Cashflow and banking
  • Oversee the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts

The Person:

  • You will be a Qualified Accountant (essential) with degree level education
  • A proactive individual comfortable in proposing and managing their own initiatives into the relatively new finance function, with prior experience as a Financial Controller
  • Advanced Excel capability, ideally experienced in SAP or similar
  • Ability to shape and develop this stand-alone function (servicing multi-sites)
  • Capable of challenge to and from both the CFO and business managers
  • Willingness to be in the detail when needed to support both the finance team and wider Management Group
  • Strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving skills, a flair for numbers, be highly organized, and have excellent leadership skills
  • A results-driven and confident finance professional, able to manage and improve financial performance and direct accounting operations
