As part of our strategic partnership with Smith and Williamson we are able to offer you invitations to some of their webinars which may be of interest to you.

The next of these is on 18th January and will be providing insight into HMRC’s current position with regard to CJRS (Coronavius Job Retention scheme) payments.

HMRC has reviewed payments made under (CJRS) and estimated that around 9% has been lost due to fraud and error. To tackle errors in claims and recover amounts that have been overpaid, the Taxpayer Protection Taskforce has been established and increased HMRC activity is expected in 2022 and beyond. This is the latest area for businesses to be mindful of, as HMRC continues to focus on employment status and compliance with the National Minimum Wage. Each of these areas has the potential to result in severe financial penalties and reputational damage if not handled correctly.

This webinar takes a look at the key employer related areas HMRC will be focusing on during 2022, and explores how to manage interactions with HMRC.

The webinar will cover :

  • HMRC’s compliance activity following the end of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme;
  • An update on off-payroll working and employment status in advance of April 2022;
  • Potential pitfalls with National Minimum Wage compliance; and
  • Tips on interacting with HMRC.
