Interim Group Financial Controller (6 months +)

Our client is renewable energy group with an impressive UK and international client base. With a track record of partnering their customers with a winning combination of expertise and innovation, they are on a rapid scaling and value creation journey. The group has grown both organically and via several acquisitions. The recently appointed CFO is embarking on significant change management program and is looking for an experienced interim controller to support a new ERP systems rollout and restructure. You will need to be a true problem solver, able to bring stability, undertake transformation and be flexible in what will be a broad role.

Key responsibilities:

This role will begin with a broad remit covering all aspects of the business, getting on top of every activity within finance to begin with before moving beyond this to other areas of the business including project reporting, sales forecasting and visibility and system ownership.

Core responsibilities will include:

  • Delivery of monthly management accounts for individual business on a timely basis, liaising with MDs of different groups to ensure clear communication regarding performance and future expectations
  • Review of process and control, overseeing any audit requirements
  • Developing KPIs and analytical tools against which businesses and the group can be monitored, helping to drive strategic decisions
  • Support the development of cash flow forecasting and budgeting
  • Take ownership of the finance systems, including MS Dynamics, ensuring it is embedded properly and working effectively.

The candidate:

  • You will be a qualified accountant with experience in growth entities and familiar with integrating new businesses into existing finance functions
  • Familiar with the rollout of ERP systems, ideally MS Dynamics, across groups and the management of the ongoing use of the software
  • Have developed teams within businesses and have experience in optimising the finance function to fit the needs of the businesses
  • Able to problem solve, trouble shoot and make changes were required.
